If you are hoping for a normal spontaneous delivery (NSD), I will first perform a thorough evaluation to determine whether it is the safest option for you and your baby. Not every pregnancy is suitable for vaginal delivery, and my priority is always your safety and your baby’s well-being. In general, women with low-risk pregnancies, no significant pregnancy complications, and a desire for a natural childbirth are often good candidates for NSD. During your prenatal visits, I will carefully assess factors such as your baby’s position, your overall health, the progress of your pregnancy, and your previous pregnancy and delivery history before making a recommendation.
If I determine that a normal spontaneous delivery is appropriate, I will support you throughout labor while closely monitoring both you and your baby. My goal is to help you achieve a safe vaginal birth whenever possible. However, if your pregnancy becomes high risk or if concerns arise during labor, I may recommend additional monitoring or medical interventions to ensure the best possible outcome. If labor does not begin naturally when it is medically appropriate for your baby to be born, I may also discuss labor induction and explain the safest options available. Every pregnancy is unique, and together we will create a personalized birth plan that prioritizes the health, safety, and comfort of both you and your baby.
