After your fetoscopic laser procedure for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), I will continue to monitor you and your babies closely throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. Most mothers stay in the hospital for one to two days, and once you are ready to go home, I will schedule weekly follow-up visits with ultrasound examinations to ensure that both babies continue to do well. I will also advise you to maintain relative rest, particularly during the first three to four weeks after the procedure. This means avoiding activities that place pressure on your abdomen, such as lifting heavy objects, while encouraging short, gentle walks of 5 to 10 minutes several times a day to promote healthy circulation.

Because you are carrying twins and will be limiting your physical activity, I may recommend anticoagulant medication for the remainder of your pregnancy to reduce the risk of blood clots, depending on your individual circumstances. During your follow-up visits, I will carefully assess the healing of the TTTS, monitor for signs of preterm labor, evaluate your babiesâ growth, and ensure that both twins continue to thrive. Around 28 to 30 weeks of pregnancy, I will perform a fetal echocardiogram to examine your babiesâ hearts and cardiovascular systems in detail. Later, between 30 and 32 weeks, I will also perform a fetal neurosonography, a specialized ultrasound that carefully evaluates the development of your babiesâ brains and nervous systems.
